To transfer a domain name, a special authorization code is required, depending on the domain extension. Only the administrator of the account under which the domain name is registered will have access to this authorization code. The exception to this is .be domains, where the authorization code is sent by the central registry via email to the email address of the domain name holder.
If, despite this, your domain name has been transferred by another provider and you believe this was done without authorization, it is very important that you contact the provider who carried out the transfer. They can investigate the matter further and take appropriate action if necessary. You can find the provider who performed the transfer in the WHOIS information under ‘Registrar’.
To prevent such situations, we recommend always handling your domain authorization codes with care. Additionally, it’s advisable to keep your TransIP control panel login credentials secure so that others cannot gain access to your domains and their associated authorization codes.
