    .at

.at is the domain extension of Austria and is managed by the registry nic.at.

On this page you will find information about .at domains that you register with TransIP

    Registration

    • .at domains may contain a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 63 characters.
    • Emojis are not available for .at domains. However, the use of special characters/punycode is possible. A comprehensive overview of which extensions allow which special characters can be found on the website of IANA, the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority.
    • .at domain registrations are annual and are automatically renewed at the end of the registration period of a year.
    • It is not allowed to use a P.O.box as an address for the owner/registrant.

    Transfers

    • Transferring a .at domain is always done with a transfer code. You can always request this at your current registrar. More information about transferring your domain name can be found here.
    • After using the transfer code, the transfer is performed almost immediately.

    WHOIS

    • Changing the owner details of a .at domain can not be done automatically, so it has to be done manually by us. To do so, you can contact us via the 'Contact us' button below. The price for this is €15,- excl. VAT (€18,15 incl. VAT).
    • It is not allowed to use a P.O.box as an address for the owner/registrant.
    • Valid WHOIS data is necessary for registrant email verification.
      • If the email verification is not successfully completed within 14 days, the domain will not be accessible until verification is done.
      • Email verification is per email address and not per domain. This means that if you have multiple domains with the same email address, you only need to perform the verification once.

    Other

    • When you cancel a .at domain name, the domain enters a Quarantine period (also known as 'Redemption period') for 59 days. During these 59 days, the domain can still be restored. After the 59-day period, the domain becomes available for registration again.
      • The registry charges fees for reactivating domains, which we must pass on to you.
    • You can use a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 8 nameservers for a .at domain.
