  • What is Windows Server?

    Windows Server is a series of server operating systems produced by Microsoft. The first version dates back to 2003 and the current newest member of the family is Windows Server 2025. The familiar Windows desktop user interface and the popularity of services like Microsoft Office, supplemented by the long term support from Microsoft, make this a popular choice amongst businesses. 

  • What sets Windows Server apart?

    Though similar in appearance to the regular desktop version of Windows, Windows Server is capable of using much larger system resources. Windows Server has less limitations around memory, network connections and CPU cores. The flipside is that the desktop version receives large updates sooner and more often, including new features.

  • How long will Windows Server be supported?

    Each version of Windows Server receives 5 years of full support; meaning new features, builds, service packs and patches. After those intitial 5 years, you can expect another 5 of extended support. After 10 years of support, versions that have reached 'end of life' can still be used, though this is strongly discouraged because of the sercurity risc involved.
