On this page, you will find all the information about .frl domains that you register with TransIP. .frl is the domain extension of Fryslân, a province in the Netherlands.
Registration
- A .frl domain can contain a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 63 characters.
- Emojis are not available for .frl domains. However, the use of special characters/punycode is possible. A comprehensive overview of which extensions allow which special characters can be found on the website of IANA, the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority.
- .frl domain registrations are annual and are automatically renewed at the end of the registration period of a year.
- After registration, the domain can not be transferred for 60 days.
Transfers
- Transferring a .frl domain is always done with a transfer code. You can always request this at your current registrar. More information about transferring your domain name can be found here.
- When a transfer is started, the owner of the domain will receive an email which can be used to accept or cancel the transfer within 5 days.
- If the owner neither accepts nor cancels the transfer, the transfer will take place after 5 days.
WHOIS
- You can update all WHOIS data of your domain via the control panel. Follow the steps in the article 'Changing the registrant (owner) of your domain name'.
- .frl domain registrations are not tied to a country or region and are therefore available for registration worldwide.
Other
- When you cancel a .frl domain name, the domain enters a Quarantine period (also known as 'Redemption period') for 30 days. During these 30 days, the domain can still be restored. The domain becomes available for registration again 35 days after cancellation.
- The registry charges fees for reactivating a domain, which we have to pass on to you. For .frl domains, this is €200 excl. VAT (€242 incl. VAT).
- You may use a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 10 nameservers for a .frl domain.
