    DirectAdmin 401 Unauthorized CMD_LICENSE

DirectAdmin changed their underlying licensing system at the end of January 2022. As a result, older DirectAdmin installations may show a 401 Unauthorized message when you click Licensing / Updates. You can solve this by updating your installation via command-line:

    Step 1

Connect to your VPS via SSH or the VPS console in the TransIP control panel.

    Step 2

Execute the following commands as the root user, or using an account with sudo privileges:

    /usr/local/directadmin/scripts/getDA.sh current

You are free to replace 'current' with 'stable'.

    Step 3

In some cases a license update is required after the previous step. Just to be sure, let your server check its license using the commands:

    cd /usr/local/directadmin/scripts
    ./getLicense.sh auto
    systemctl restart directadmin

This concludes our short tutorial on fixing the Unauthorized error when clicking Licensing/Updates in DirectAdmin.
