Installatron is a web application for i.a. DirectAdmin, Plesk en cPanel, which allows you to easily install web applications such as WordPress and Joomla on your websites.
In addition, Installatron allows you to automatically update web applicaties (including plugins and themes), which increases the security of your server. You can configure Installatron to automatically create backups of your website prior to updating web applications and restoring a backup if the update fails.
In this article we explain how to install Installatron on a VPS with DirectAdmin, Plesk, or cPanel.

Installing Installatron
The installation procedure for Installatron is identical for DirectAdmin, Plesk and cPanel:
Step 1
Connect to your VPS using SSH or use the VPS-console.
Step 2
Download the Installatron installation script using the command:
wget https://data.installatron.com/installatron-plugin.sh
Step 3
Make the script executable with chmod:
sudo chmod +x installatron-plugin.sh
Step 4
Next, install Installatron with the command:
sudo ./installatron-plugin.sh -f
Step 5
After the installation, remove the installation script:
rm installatron-plugin.sh
You won't need the script later again. It's always best practise to clean up your server in a similar manner when downloading and using installation scripts.
