This article uses images and steps for a Samsung device, using Android 9.0. Keep in mind that not every Android device uses the exact same user interface.
Although most Android devices are pretty similar, this could mean that some images or steps may be slightly different if you're using a different Android device.

To use email with our Web Hosting and Email Only services, your domain name needs to use the correct DNS records.
If your domain name uses the TransIP settings, we will automatically take care of the DNS for you. If you want to configure the DNS yourself, make sure to add the MX, TXT and CNAME records for your Web Hosting or Email Only service.

Configuring your email address on an Android device
There are several ways to start the configuration on an Android device. First, open the Email app on your smartphone.
- If you haven't conifugred an email address in the Email app yet, you will be asked to set up an email address.
- If you've already configured an email address in the Email app, head over to 'Settings' in the app, followed by 'Add account'.
- Another way to add an email address is by going to the 'Settings' of your smartphone. From here, head over to 'Accounts', followed by 'Email' and 'Add account'.
Either way, the window 'Set up Email' will be shown. Head over to Step 1 to proceed.
Step 1
Because you're going to set up your own email address, tap 'Other'.
Step 2
Enter your email address and password and tap 'Sign in'.
Can't remember your password? Use the steps in the article 'Changing the password of your email address' to set a new one.
Step 3
Tap 'IMAP account'.
Step 4
Enter the settings for your email address.
- Email address: Enter your email address.
- Username: Enter your email address.
- Password: Enter the password of your email address.
Next up are the settings for the Incoming server.
- IMAP server: Enter imap.transip.email
- Security type: Choose SSL.
- Port: Enter 993.
Step 5
Now it's time to enter the settings for the Outgoing server.
- SMTP server: Enter smtp.transip.email
- Security type: Choose SSL.
- Port: Enter 465.
Finally, enter your email address and password again.
Now press 'Sign in' to complete the configuration of your email address.
Some Android devices will let you choose additional options for the email account or may ask to enter the name of the email account and the sender.
Afterwards, you will have succesfully configured your email address on your Android device.
